
Professor Hartmut Griepentrog (1941) became a Senior Advisor with Ventizz Capital Partners Advisory AG in 2007. Prior to this he had supported this company for two years as a member of ErSol AG's supervisory board. Prior to joining Ventizz, he was CEO of Gelsenwasser AG (with the E.ON Energie AG as majority shareholder), which he restructured and strategically repositioned. During this period he was also a member of E.ON Energie AG's executive committee.
He formed the Greif Foundation in 2003 and he continues to be the foundation's chairman. He also holds other positions on supervisory and advisory councils for various companies in the energy sector.
He was Cubis AG's CEO from 1988 to 1998. This company is a global technology service provider with activities focusing on telecommunications, chemicals, energy, engineering and transport. It has around 4,500 employees.
He was a member of Deutsche Babcock Maschinenbau AG's Managing Board until 1988, where he was responsible for developing technology and managing Babcock Borsig AG.
He started his career in 1970 as a design engineer for seals and turbines with GHH Sterkrade AG, where he set up the turbo engines product group in the following ten years.
He studied engineering at the Technical University of Hanover, and graduated at the Université de Liège. He then went on to work as a Visiting Lecturer at the US Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, USA.
Hartmut Griepentrog is a visiting lecturer at the Institute for Aircraft Propulsion Systems at Stuttgart University.
