Ventizz Capital Partners acquires the leading manufacturer of quartz glass QSil Quarzschmelze Ilmenau GmbH

Ventizz Capital Partners Advisory AG announces the acquisition of a controlling stake of the leading manufacturer of quartz glass QSil Quarzschmelze Ilmenau GmbH (QSil) by Ventizz Capital Fund III L.P. Previous institutional investors Sementis Copia I GmbH, Erfurt and MicroVenture Lucrum 1 GmbH, Düsseldorf have sold a majority stake of the Langewiesen near Ilmenau/Thuringia – located company.
QSil was in 1992 spun out of the „Kieselglas” business unit of Ilmenauer Glaswerke GmbH. Today QSil is a leading vendor of quartz glass products for the semiconductor and fibre optical industry. Its proprietary and unique plasma fusion manufacturing process has cost advantages compared with conventional multilevel production Technology. With 95 employees and a global network of sales representatives QSil is a worldwide well positioned company.
Ventizz Capital Fund III L.P. intends to support the company’s further growth and internationalisation. Besides already acquired stakes in ErSol Solar Energy AG, Erfurt, ASi Industries GmbH, Arnstadt and PV Crystalox Solar AG, Erfurt, QSil is the fourth successful technology investment within the State of Thuringia.
With this recent transaction Ventizz Capital Partners continues with its investment strategy to focus on high-tech companies with extraordinary growth opportunities.
