The private equity advisory firm Ventizz Capital Partners and MEDOS Medizintechnik AG announce the acquisition of Life Systems Medizintechnik GmbH from Krauth medical KG (GmbH & Co.) with effect as of January 1st 2008. Life Systems is the leading provider of perfusion and cardiac-technology services, with a staff of over 50 employees and service cooperations with 14 hospitals in Germany and Europe.

“This step yields new and exciting perspectives, as well as pivotal impulses for further dynamic growth for both sides“, comments Joachim Pelz, Chief Finance Officer of MEDOS Medizintechnik AG. “With its new expanded offering, the MEDOS Group now covers a large spectrum of the customers’ value chain. This enables us to provide an important contribution to improvements in clinic management and subsequently to the success of our customers.”

Thomas Theisen, MD, Phd, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of MEDOS Medizintechnik AG, points out: “With the acquisition of Life Systems, the MEDOS Group gains a new profile. We are changing from a mere product supplier to a provider of integrated solutions and thus to a close partner of the clinics. As a member of the MEDOS Group, Life Systems will expand its position as market leader. We will maintain and furthermore actively develop the brand of Life Systems, renown for quality and performance. At the same time we benefit from the expert knowledge and practical experience of the Life Systems employees, representing a valuable addition to our know-how in product development and manufacturing. We are glad to welcome the employees of Life Systems as new members of the MEDOS Team, retaining Life System’s staff size and increasing it in the mid-term.”

„With MEDOS we have found a competent partner“, adds Raoul Gertges, Managing Director of Life Systems GmbH. „MEDOS provides a matching product portfolio, lean organisational structures and a very flexible, customer orientated approach to the market. Thus, as a medium sized company with global footprint MEDOS is a perfect fit for us. We are very confident that through this step Life Systems will be positioned even better for the future.”

Reinhard Löchner, member of the board of Ventizz Capital Partners Advisory AG and chairman of the board of MEDOS Medizintechnik AG, summarizes: “After the acquisition of GISH Biomedical Inc. in July 2007, with its new acquisition of Life Systems, the MEDOS Group marks a further milestone on the way to the goal of 100 Mio € turnover.”
